There is a broad range of mental health support and services that South Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind offer in Stratford upon Avon. These services range from a crisis helpline and out of hours telephone support, to group and one-to-one in-person sessions.

24 Hour Mental Wellbeing Line – Stratford upon Avon

This service is delivered by the Wellbeing for Warwickshire team, and aims to help people towards better mental health before their condition deteriorates into crisis. It’s available across Warwickshire and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Call 0800 616171 and speak to one of our friendly and understanding advisors.

Group Mental Wellbeing Sessions

Wellbeing for Warwickshire is more than a wellbeing line! It is also a comprehensive service dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being in Stratford upon Avon. This service provides a holistic approach, addressing various aspects of mental health, including stress management, emotional well-being, resilience-building and self-care. 

Through workshops, courses, one-on-one support, and community engagement, the service equips individuals with practical tools and strategies to enhance their overall well-being. These services are free of charge and open to all, currently running in Stratford upon Avon and Shipston:

Mondays: Wellbeing Drop-In -Stratford (Friends Meeting House)

Held at Friends Meeting House (37 Maidenhead Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6XT) every Monday from 10am – 12 midday, just drop in. Come along for a chat with like-minded people about life and its challenges, with the help and guidance of one of our friendly team.

 

Mondays: Green Minds – Stratford (Lifeways Therapy Centre)

Our volunteer-led initiative this is a gardening group held at 11.15am every Monday at Lifeways Therapy centre on Albany Road, for two hours. If you’re a gardening enthusiast (or would like to be!), see more about Green Minds here.

Thursdays: Wellbeing Drop-In – Shipston (The Shipston Warm Hub)

Every week between 10am – 12 midday hosted at the Shipston Scout Hut (New Street, CV36 6EW). Led by The Stour Health and Wellbeing Partnership and with a trained SWWMind practitioner present each week, this drop in session covers popular topics designed to help people help themselves towards better mental health. Some weeks guest speakers like nurses and first aid responders will attend. 
 

Fridays: Wellbeing Drop-In – Stratford (Fred Winter Centre)

Held at the Fred Winter Centre (41 Guild Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6QY)  every Friday between 10.30am – 12.30pm.  Come along for a chat with like-minded people about life and its challenges, with the help and guidance of one of our friendly team.

Active Monitoring/Supported Self Help

Supported Self Help is a free specialist service offered by South Warwickshire & Worcestershire Mind and located in Stratford upon Avon GP surgeries. The service exists to help patients who would otherwise be placed on a lengthy waiting list for support, during which time their mental health may deteriorate. It’s a proactive service which assists individuals in managing their mental wellbeing. You’ll receive regular check-ins with a practitioner who will  give guidance and practical strategies to maintain your wellbeing, whilst you’re waiting for, or instead of, a GP referral.

The service aims to spot early signs of issues, and intervene early to prevent mental issues becoming worse. This service provides users with a safe space to discuss their issues, create personal goals to improve their mental well-being and emotional resilience.

Breathing Space – For Orbit customers in Stratford upon Avon

This free mental health service is designed for Orbit customers who require help and support towards better mental health. This structured regular weekly support consists of 12 weeks of one to one meetings, focusing on personal goal setting and creating a tool kit of self help resources. 

This service may be right for you if you’re feeling depressed, anxious or in a consistently demotivated.
